Based on a true story, The Project is an original opera depicting the lives of four women living and working in a secret government compound in the mountains of Tennessee. Exploring themes of patriotism, censorship, and sexism, this contemporary chamber opera set during World War II features music and lyrics that pay tribute to the strength of femininity and the deep roots of the Appalachian South.
